Wrist wraps provide essential protection for the wrist joint. This is especially important during heavy pressing movements such as bench press and overhead press.

They can also give a boost in performance if you have a tendancy to bend your wrists during pressing movements.

For example in bench press, the most efficient technique is to have the bar and your joints stacked in a line. Bar on top of wrist, on top of elbow.

Wraps keep your wrist straight maintaining the bar in a better position, giving a more efficient movement.

Wrist wraps can also be useful when squatting in a low bar position to remove some tension from the wrist.
